About The Position

Airgas is Hiring for a Filler in Worcester, MA! We are looking for you! The hourly base pay range for this position in Massachusetts is $26.00 - $27.00. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Airgas considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:30 am to 3:00 pm

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a valid forklift operator’s license is required.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 60 pounds, and occasionally move up to 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment is required.
  • The ability to read and comprehend all written communications is required.
  • Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Fills cryogenic liquids and pure non-flammable industrial gases according to Airgas Fill Plant Standard Operating Procedures by any of the following methods
  • Sets pressure gauge to specified reading and watches for indication of full cylinders.
  • Adjusts valves and observes gauge to fill cylinder to specified pressure.
  • Observes scale indicator to fill cylinders to specified weight.
  • Fills cylinder to full capacity, rolls cylinder onto scale and connects vent line to release excess gas and attain prescribed weight.
  • Rolls cylinders onto platform, or positions cylinders in manifold racks manually or with the aid of material handling equipment.
  • Tests gas for purity using testing equipment.
  • Inspects or tests empty cylinders.
  • Examines exterior of cylinder for surface defects such as dents, cracks, or burns, and deciphers whether or not to quarantine the cylinder for further inspection.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
