About The Position

The Filler/Seamer Pouch position involves filling and sealing cans or pouches to meet product specifications. The role requires running the machine and making changeovers according to the schedule. Responsibilities include verifying that the pouches or lids staged conform to the batch sheet, feeding lids or pouches to the seamer, monitoring and recording pouch or can information, and running QC inspector samples for seam tear down. The employee must verify proper product amounts and make adjustments to can or pouch weights as per quality control instructions. Maintaining cleanliness in the work area during downtime and changeover events is essential, along with performing weekly sanitation tasks. The position also requires participation as a team member, contributing to ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies. The employee will coordinate work to ensure best practices with all team members and attend appropriate team meetings. The role involves fostering strong cohesiveness regarding major issues and accepting responsibility to identify areas lacking cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader, and working supportively to resolve issues. Familiarity with Simmons' established operating systems, including quality, security, and company policies, is necessary, as is the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas. Requirements

  • Experienced within a manufacturing/process environment.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Reading and writing skills.
  • Computer knowledge.
  • Good communication skills in English.
