About The Position

The Filler/Seamer Pouch position involves filling and sealing cans or pouches to meet product specifications. The role requires running the machine and making changeovers according to the schedule. Responsibilities include verifying that the pouches or lids staged conform to the batch sheet, feeding lids or pouches to the seamer, and monitoring and recording pouch or can information. The position also entails running QC inspector samples for seam tear down, verifying proper product amounts, and making adjustments to can or pouch weights per quality control instructions. Maintaining cleanliness in the work area during downtime and changeover events, performing weekly sanitation, and participating as a member of the team are also key aspects of the role. The employee is expected to engage in ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies, ensuring best practices are coordinated with all team members. Attendance at appropriate team meetings and fostering strong cohesiveness regarding major issues is essential. The position requires familiarity with Simmons' established operating systems, including quality, security, and company policies, and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
