About The Position

The Filler/Seamer Pouch position involves filling and sealing cans or pouches to meet product specifications. The role requires running the machine and making changeovers according to the schedule. Responsibilities include verifying that the pouches or lids staged conform to the batch sheet and feeding lids or pouches to the seamer. The employee will monitor and record pouch or can information, run QC inspector samples for seam tear down, and verify proper product amounts. Adjustments to can or pouch weights will be made per quality control instructions. The position also entails keeping the area clean during downtime and changeover events, performing weekly sanitation, and participating as a member of the team. The employee will engage in ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies, coordinating work to ensure best practices with all team members. Attendance at appropriate team meetings is required, and the employee is expected to foster strong cohesiveness regarding major issues such as direction, annual plan, budget, and policy changes. The role includes accepting responsibility for identifying areas lacking cohesiveness and working with the team leader to resolve issues. Familiarity with Simmons' established operating systems, including quality, security, and company policies, is essential. Requirements

  • Experienced within a manufacturing/process environment.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Background in manufacturing.
  • Ability to make good decisions and communicate effectively with others and leadership team.
