About The Position

IU Health Physicians is seeking an Anesthetist in Indianapolis, IN! This position offers the opportunity to participate in the growth of the anesthetist profession within the adult academic health center, including IU Health Methodist and University Hospitals. The role involves involvement in student, resident, and fellow training, including a faculty appointment. This is a full-time position with flexible scheduling options, including 4x10s, 3x13s, and 5x8s, with no weekend work or call required. Responsibilities include both inpatient and outpatient care across various specialties such as endoscopy, ERCP, GYN, ENT, dental, plastics, urology, ortho, trauma, NORA, general, neuro, and spine. There are plans to expand anesthetist coverage to vascular, cardiac, and OB procedures, which include IV placement, airway management, arterial & central cath placement, and general & regional anesthesia.

Requirements

  • Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant: Must have graduated with a Master's degree from a CAAHEP accredited Anesthesiologist Assistant Program and passed the Certifying Examination for Anesthesiologist Assistants or the CDQ examination with current certification.
  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist: Must have graduated from a Master's level Nurse Anesthesia program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs and passed the National Certification Examination with current certification from the Council of Certification of Nurse Anesthetists.
  • Must hold current ACLS and PALS certifications.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Indiana.
