About The Position
Teach mathematics and serve as a homeroom teacher in Grade 5; collaborate and plan with Grade 5 colleagues to design experiences for students; communicate and partner with parents and grade-level team through homeroom program. Requirements
- Master's Degree or equivalent in teaching (6 or more years strongly preferred).
- Clear the Department of Justice background screening (Livescan)
- Authorized to work in the United States (I-9)
- Provide health (TB) clearance (an update is expected every four years)
Responsibilities
- Provide daily instruction in Grade 5 Math—teaching 3 sections of approximately 17 students
- Lead an homeroom group of approximately 17 students
- Implement curricula as identified in the Curriculum Guide
- Teach with an understanding of the development and growth of Middle School girls
- Collect and analyze student assessment and performance data
- Communicate and collaborate with other faculty and staff regarding each student
- Measure and track student progress using a variety of formative and summative assessment tools
- Communicate with parents about the program and student progress
- Attend grade level meetings for collaborative discussion and sharing of student concerns
- Identify materials, resources, and technology needs for program
