About The Position

Teach mathematics and serve as a homeroom teacher in Grade 5; collaborate and plan with Grade 5 colleagues to design experiences for students; communicate and partner with parents and grade-level team through homeroom program. Requirements

  • Master's Degree or equivalent in teaching (6 or more years strongly preferred).
  • Clear the Department of Justice background screening (Livescan)
  • Authorized to work in the United States (I-9)
  • Provide health (TB) clearance (an update is expected every four years)

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily instruction in Grade 5 Math—teaching 3 sections of approximately 17 students
  • Lead an homeroom group of approximately 17 students
  • Implement curricula as identified in the Curriculum Guide
  • Teach with an understanding of the development and growth of Middle School girls
  • Collect and analyze student assessment and performance data
  • Communicate and collaborate with other faculty and staff regarding each student
  • Measure and track student progress using a variety of formative and summative assessment tools
  • Communicate with parents about the program and student progress
  • Attend grade level meetings for collaborative discussion and sharing of student concerns
  • Identify materials, resources, and technology needs for program
