About The Position

The Field Training Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the company's mission by fostering a learning culture and executing the training strategy at the regional level. This position involves coaching Operations team members, managing training programs, and ensuring the effective execution of training initiatives to meet brand expectations and operational standards.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of restaurant management experience required.
  • High School diploma or equivalency required; Associates degree or above preferred.
  • Above average verbal and written communication skills.
  • Average skills with MS Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of all company policies, procedures, and practices as it relates to restaurant operations.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities regularly.
  • Must be organized, flexible, and able to deal with various personalities.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

  • Taco Cabana management experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Champions the highest levels of quality and consistency by advocating the approved systems and procedures for operations and training.
  • Conducts on-site visits with Managers-in-Training (MITs) to evaluate progress through the development process.
  • Addresses questions and concerns and validates skills of MITs.
  • Coordinates, monitors, and may conduct training for MITs and internal management promotions at certified training restaurants.
  • Evaluates trainees during training and follows up after training to ensure effectiveness.
  • Makes recommendations to District Managers and Human Resources when unsatisfactory progress is found.
  • Develops Certified Training Restaurants and Certified Training GMs.
  • Conducts the pre-certification audit of all new Certified Training Restaurants in the region and creates development action plans with General Managers.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of Certified Training GMs execution of training programs and offers input for improvement.
  • Administers and makes recommendations for changes to the Training Restaurant General Manager compensation plan.
  • Conducts training workshops and seminars for MITs and restaurant management.
  • Analyzes training needs and evaluates effectiveness of training tools, programs, and systems, offering input for improvements.
  • Executes planned rollouts to operations, including new products, processes, and technology to support company initiatives.
  • Assists Ops Leaders with training and performance improvement projects coordinated through the Director of Training and Chief People and Culture Officer.
  • Conducts and completes training and operations audits as directed, making recommendations for follow-up and performance improvement.
  • Participates in new restaurant openings and coordinates the ROS Team.
  • Participates and contributes in District and Region management meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
