THE JOB Hy-Tech is adding a Field Trainer to our growing team. The Field Trainer is responsible for delivery of internal and external training programs to field operations personnel in support of diamond drilling operations. This role emphasizes a safety-first philosophy, which is integral to the creation and utilization of training materials and course delivery. We are looking to add an ambitious, well-rounded individual to carry out the following key responsibilities:

Requirements

  • Work independently and as part of a team, developing strong relationships.
  • Perceive the bigger picture, tailoring your actions to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Must have a valid driver’s licence and provide a current drivers abstract annually.
  • 3-5 years of Diamond Drilling experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of diamond drilling technologies, equipment standards, and sustainability practices.
  • Experience training and mentoring adult learners.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental regulations, codes and laws that pertain to the Diamond Drilling Industry.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of specialized training (i.e., Mine Supervisor Certificate – BC) and Train the Trainer Certification is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the site management to identify site specific training needs, gather frontline feedback on employee performance and development.
  • Prepare a trip plan for each site visit that outline travel plans, the purpose of the site visit, and achievable goals while on site. Upon completion of the site visit, document trip outcomes and training effectiveness
  • Follow established procedures to identify and develop employees ready for advancement.
  • Monitor trends, client requests and internal changes (equipment and procedures) to anticipate training needs.
  • Participate in change management for equipment and procedures.
  • Facilitate internal field operations training courses, assessing, and documenting participant performance to support in-field areas of continued focus and development so they can be scheduled accordingly.
  • Facilitate internal training programs.
  • Monitor training compliance, and contact employee if training is not complete.
  • Assist with incident investigations.
  • Implement training or required site changes to mitigate risks identified during incident investigations.
  • Coordinate with HS to conduct ERP testing on site to ensure that the workplace can react systematically and effectively in a crisis.
  • Conduct site visits to ensure that the Foreman and drill crews are following all the company protocols and operating as efficiently and safely as possible.
