About The Position

The Field Testing Specialist at Corteva Agriscience will manage the day-to-day operations of product development for corn, soybean, sorghum, and wheat at the North Platte Research Center. This role involves overseeing all phases of research from planting to harvesting, ensuring data quality, and implementing new technologies to enhance product development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in agriculture or scientific field with 5+ years of experience in agronomy, Biology, Plant Breeding or a scientific-related field
  • Competency with standard Microsoft Office programs and capacity to learn new technologies and software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated people management experience with the ability to teach and coach employees
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills, strategic analysis, and communication skills
  • Commitment to excellent safety and risk management practices
  • Physical capability to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying ergonomic environments
  • Driver's License with an acceptable driving record and ability to obtain CMV and/or CDL
  • Ability to obtain appropriate pesticide applicator license/certification

Nice To Haves

  • Strong agronomy background with the ability to scout crops and make recommendations based on findings
  • Knowledge of general farming practices and ability to operate agricultural equipment
  • General mechanical knowledge to diagnose and solve mechanical failures

Responsibilities

  • Use technology, including iPads and various software tools to collect, evaluate and distribute data following detailed protocols
  • Lead assigned projects and coordinate experiments with other locations
  • Lead in site safety culture and ensure adherence to safety standards
  • Maintain or improve efficient daily workplace operations
  • Summarize experiments, manage and analyze data
  • Organize and supervise work of other employees
  • May serve on teams appropriate to specific research project
  • Operate agricultural research equipment, including tractors, planters, sprayers, forklifts, and research combines
  • Point of contact for research equipment support teams
  • Delegate out different subfunctions to other team members to lead
