Requirements

  • High school diploma with 5 years of experience, Associate's degree with 2 years of experience or Bachelor's Degree.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication/personal interaction skills to foster teamwork, enhance a positive work environment, and effectively develop strong internal and external working relationships with a diverse group of people.
  • Strong experience and skills with computers and data management.
  • Strong aptitude to operate and maintain planting and harvest equipment including electronics, GPS systems and data collection systems.
  • Demonstrate skills in leadership, operational safety, supervision and time management.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be capable of working in varying ergonomic and environmental conditions for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in experiment planning, location mapping, and seed filling activities to prepare for planting.
  • Help with seed lab activities including seed treating, shipping, sorting, inventory.
  • Collect and review phenotypic data requested by experiment managers across both corn and soybeans.
  • Collaborate with local and regional employees to fulfill phenotyping and field activities for corn and soybeans according to a given protocol.
  • Operate on a planting and harvest crew in corn and soybean yield test trials.
  • Operate various pieces of research equipment, including but not limited to tractors, planters, sprayers, and combines.
  • Assist with plot maintenance by scouting weed, insect, and disease pressure across crops.
  • Participate as a member of various station committees and audits, administer center-wide safety programs and comply with all station and company policies.
  • Identify improvements in procedures and protocols within allotted time constraints.
  • Identify appropriate and efficient uses of Princeton yield test resources.
  • Make daily decisions associated with conducting experiments that reflect Company Policies.
  • Decide priority of work activities to meet assigned shipping deadlines, balancing all assigned projects.
