About The Position

We are hiring Field Testers at Levels II and III to join our Verification & QA Team in Northern Utah. These hands-on roles are responsible for validating ASI's autonomous software through real-world vehicle testing, simulation testing, and data analysis. This is a on-site position that requires a high level of professionalism. Field Tester I primarily focuses on physical vehicle testing in controlled test environments and off-site locations. Field Tester II includes all Field Tester I responsibilities with additional involvement in simulation testing and basic data collection and analysis. Field Tester III expands further by contributing to test automation, scalability validation, and troubleshooting complex system behaviors.

Requirements

1+ years of experience in hardware/software testing, vehicle testing, or a related field.
Background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a technical field preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience using JIRA and Jama (or similar bug-tracking tools).
Comfortable learning how to operate and test construction/heavy equipment during an on-site ramp-up period.
Ability to follow test procedures, listen, and execute assigned tasks efficiently.
3+ years of experience in software or hardware testing.
Experience working with simulation environments for software scalability testing.
Familiarity with onboard and offboard system validation.
Strong understanding of autonomous software performance testing.
5+ years of experience in software/hardware testing, validation, or quality assurance.
Basic scripting knowledge (Python, Bash, or similar) for test automation and data analysis.
Experience in troubleshooting complex system behaviors in real-world and simulation environments.
Strong ability to identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies.

Nice To Haves

Background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a technical field preferred.

Responsibilities

Execute manual test plans on autonomous vehicles in real-world environments.
Operate and control heavy equipment and test vehicles under various conditions.
Work closely with scrum teams to conduct user-acceptance testing for software releases.
Identify, document, and report defects using JIRA and Jama (bug tracking tools).
Collect and analyze test data to validate system functionality.
Assist in on-site and off-site testing, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
Regularly lift and carry test equipment as needed.
Perform simulation testing to assess software scalability.
Utilize Mobius (ASI's internal platform) for test execution and data collection.
Execute test plans involving onboard and offboard system integration.
Work with cross-functional teams to optimize testing workflows.
Develop and execute advanced validation strategies for scalability testing.
Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing complex system behaviors.
Implement basic scripting (e.g., Python, Bash) to automate test processes and analyze system performance.
Provide input on refining testing methodologies and processes.
