The Field surveyor/technician plays a critical role in supporting Damotech’s rack repair and engineering operations. This field-based position is responsible for conducting on-site surveys at customer locations, documenting rack damage, and facilitating the preparation of detailed project quotes. The ideal candidate is self-directed, comfortable with travelling 100% of the time, tech-savvy, and thrives in industrial environments, contributing to Damotech’s mission of improving warehouse safety. Requirements

  • 2+ years of fieldwork or site inspection experience in industrial services, construction, or warehousing.
  • Comfortable working in active warehouse environments with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with iPads, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), and cloud-based CRM tools.
  • Ability to work independently, manage schedules, and prioritize competing site visits.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site surveys of pallet rack systems at distribution centers and industrial warehouses.
  • Collect accurate data including measurements, photos, and damage assessments using iPad and other mobile tools.
  • Document rack damage following company standards and communicate findings clearly for quoting.
  • Interface with internal departments, including estimating, engineering, and sales teams to ensure survey data is processed efficiently.
  • Act as the bridge between field operations and back-office functions by submitting complete, high-quality survey documentation.
  • Coordinate with Business Development Managers to support dealer and customer opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of all site visits and customer interactions within the CRM (e.g., HubSpot).
  • Use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and survey-specific templates for documentation.
  • Ensure all surveys are submitted in a timely manner to support the quoting pipeline.
  • Travel throughout the territory.
  • Work independently in warehouse environments, adhering to site safety rules and company protocol.
