About The Position

Wood Rodgers, a leading engineering consulting firm, is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a full-time Field Technician to perform duties related to quality control and construction materials testing. In this role, you will be responsible for performing construction observation, testing, and inspection of various phases of construction which include but not limited to mass grading, utility installation, asphalt paving, and concrete installation.
This is a staffed, hourly, non-exempt position.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic understanding of construction processes and materials.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications (training provided).
• Comfortable working outdoors and in active construction environments.
• Valid driver’s license, you are insurable and have reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Proficient in computer use.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections and testing of construction materials and workmanship.
• Document and report findings using standardized forms and digital tools.
• Assist in verifying compliance with project plans, specifications, and codes.
• Communicate effectively with site personnel to resolve quality issues.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections and test results.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed during inspections.
