Telecommunications Field Technician Job Summary: The Telecommunications Field Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of a wide range of communication systems, including LTE networks, VSAT/LEO satellite systems, two-way radio systems, fiber optic infrastructure, and network equipment. This role requires hands-on technical expertise and the ability to work independently in field environments while supporting enterprise and industrial network operations. Key Responsibilities: • Install, configure, and maintain LTE/4G/5G communication equipment and associated networking hardware • Perform installation and alignment of VSAT and LEO satellite systems (e.g., Starlink or similar platforms) • Support and troubleshoot two-way radio systems (VHF/UHF, trunked systems, repeaters, antennas) • Conduct OSP (Outside Plant) fiber optic work, including splicing, testing (OTDR), and troubleshooting • Maintain and repair cable plant infrastructure, including structured cabling and terminations • Provide hands-and-eyes support for network operations teams, including rack/stack, patching, and equipment replacement • Assist with network firewall and routing hardware installations, basic configuration, and troubleshooting • Perform site surveys, signal testing, and system performance validation • Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues across multiple communication platforms • Ensure all installations meet safety standards, company policies, and industry best practices • Document work performed, including diagrams, test results, and service reports • Coordinate with NOCs, engineers, and vendors to resolve escalated issues • Travel to remote or customer sites as required
