About The Position

This is an entry level position with a starting salary of $16-$18 per hour. > Programs and places traffic counting machines and tubes onto roadway as instructed > Collects traffic counting machines at conclusion of counts > Downloads data from traffic counters to computer and prepares printouts > Conducts turning movement counts when requested > Helps to maintain traffic counting equipment - This is an entry-level, full-time position. The hours vary with approximately 90% of the work is Monday - Friday with about 10% on weekends. - Daily/weekly travel and overnight stays are required. Must be able to work flexible hours including overtime and travel throughout the state with overnight stays at least 25% or more during the year. Home most weekends. - Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50lbs while loading vehicle and setting up/removing work zone, including bending, kneeling, lifting 10-50 lbs as well as operating hand and power tools (hammer, crowbar, etc.) - Safety conscious and must pass or already hold Basic Work Zone Safety Training Course - Must be able to read maps, navigate to sites and collect GPS coordinates accurately and pass a map test. Must have good verbal/written communication, organizational and problem-solving skills along with good computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Earth. - Familiar with radar, video recording equipment (used for traffic counting), and wireless technologies a plus along with strong electronics and computer skills for configurations needed along with trouble-shooting. - Work is outdoors. Candidates should be able to handle regular exposure to the outside elements. - Must be able to operate company vehicle safely while frequently entering and exiting travel lanes, including the ability to work responsibly and safely in/near roadways (streets, highways, freeways) - Must be able to work effectively alone and, occasionally, as a team on special projects. - Must have High School Diploma/GED as well as Valid Driver’s License w/excellent driving record. Must meet company policies and standards as well as federal and state laws regarding a background check. - Must obtain a Negative Drug test prior to hire and maintain throughout employment
