About The Position

The Solar Field Technician at Nevados is responsible for overseeing the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of solar tracking systems across various project sites. This role involves both on-site and remote monitoring activities, ensuring optimal performance of solar systems while providing technical support and training to partners and onsite teams. The position requires significant travel, primarily within the continental USA, to facilitate site visits and client interactions.

  • Basic understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic assemblies

Responsibilities

  • Commissioning of new solar sites on location with provided equipment.
  • Act as the onsite point of contact between the off-site commissioning and controls team.
  • Update commissioning reports after site visits for internal distribution.
  • Create detailed reports on field service work and monitoring data.
  • Update onsite troubleshooting reports after site visits for internal distribution.
  • Conduct quality control checks and reports after site visits for internal distribution.
  • Perform timely monitoring and audits of solar systems via monitoring portals.
  • Coordinate resolution of issues with internal and external teams.
  • Request spare parts needed for job site visits.
  • Attend weekly calls with project owners and the Nevados team.
  • Conduct mechanical testing of newly designed products at headquarters and manufacturing facilities.
  • Schedule site visits for potential customers and develop relationships with onsite personnel.
  • Train onsite Operations and Maintenance (O&M) teams on product usage and troubleshooting.
  • Support O&M activities to maintain solar system performance.
  • Complete site visit summaries and weekly performance reports.
