About The Position

The Field Technician VI role at Spectrum involves working closely with some of the company's largest customers, including government entities, educational institutions, and large corporations. This position is crucial for ensuring high-quality installation and service, thereby enhancing Spectrum's reputation as a leading service provider. The technician will engage in problem-solving, build relationships with clients, and collaborate with various departments to deliver exceptional service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Experience in complex structured cabling jobs, including Cat5/Cat6 installation.
• Experience in programming and installing routers, Internet gateway services, and Ethernet switches.
• 3+ years of IP networking experience and 1+ years of Field Technician IV/V experience.
• Completion of appropriate Charter University Training or equivalent work experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and engineering skills, particularly in SONET/Ethernet transport.
• Extensive knowledge of the TCP/IP stack and network designs.
• Basic knowledge of software tools for current operations.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to use hand tools and operate weight-bearing equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Provide installation and service for Spectrum's largest customers.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients to ensure smooth service delivery.
• Interact with multiple departments to coordinate service and installation efforts.
• Perform remote hands-on work for Enterprise Engineering at customer locations.
• Participate in a mandatory on-call rotation.
