About The Position

Visionary Broadband seeks a qualified individual to fulfill the role of Field Technician – Tower Technician. This full-time, hourly position will join the wireless team at Visionary Broadband, a division of Visionary Communications, Inc., one of the top service providers in the region.

Job Overview:

As a Tower Technician, you are responsible for maintaining the stability of towers to provide the best network services for the customers. Tower technicians are often out in the field to conduct repairs and installations for the customers, inspecting the area's condition, and reporting structural inconsistencies and defects. The ideal candidate will have excellent mechanical and electrical knowledge to resolve issues immediately and create resolution manuals to prevent reoccurrence and ensure the safeness and security of line towers.

Visionary is often on the cutting edge of new technology deployments and works in a multitude of different situations with many different entities. A successful candidate will be a critical thinker, willing to both come up with new solutions and work with existing team members to collaborate on a best way forward in unique situations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Telecom experience preferred
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Good knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, as well as ability to quickly learn and work within proprietary computer applications.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with demonstrated problem solving abilities
• Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable to drive a company vehicle.
• Flexibility to work outside of standard 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday schedule, this could include occasional weekend work.
• Must be willing to travel within up to 75% of the time (could include overnight travel).

Responsibilities

• Install equipment on Tower
• Assembling electronic equipment in racks/cabinets, plumbing all RF, wiring
• Telecom Installation of RF/ground/power/telecommunications cabling.
• Completion of client and company checklists, photos, and test results typically communicated to management (emails, uploads to FTP, Web Interface, etc.)
• Maintain network documentation with a very high level of accuracy
• Completing work that is assigned while on 24-hour “on call” duty to resolve any tower-related or customer issues
