The Field Support Technician is responsible for the introduction, installation, testing, and modification of the latest ARCI SONAR technology to the US Navy Submarine Fleet. Up to 50% of the job will be traveling to Naval Bases/Shipyards. The technician will provide technical support and perform maintenance activities at various locations, including customer sites to ensure optimal functioning of SONAR systems. They will also provide system software/hardware support, execute engineering field changes, and foster positive relationships with customers through effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Active secret clearance.
  • Ability to work extended travel to Naval bases and Shipyards.
  • Ability to go up/down ladders and work in confined spaces.
  • Team player who can work without direct supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous US Navy Sonar Technician experience.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, wiring diagrams, and plans.
  • Fiber Optic Certified.
  • Operational, maintenance, and troubleshooting skills for various platforms including Los Angeles, SSGN, and Virginia Class sub-systems.
  • Presentation skills to leadership, US Government, and US Navy customers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Introduce, install, test, and modify ARCI SONAR technology to the US Navy Submarine Fleet.
  • Travel to Naval Bases/Shipyards up to 50% of the time.
  • Provide technical support and perform maintenance activities at various locations.
  • Provide system software/hardware support.
  • Execute engineering field changes, including equipment upgrades and replacements.
  • Foster positive relationships with customers through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Support the ARCI Customer Support Center (CSC) to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Support the Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) Lab to build, test, and maintain SONAR equipment.
