About The Position

We are looking for a Field Technician to join our Root Control team based out of the Atlanta, GA area to support critical underground infrastructure projects. As a Field Technician, youll play a vital role in applying our exclusive EPA-registered herbicide to control nuisance tree roots in sanitary sewer systems. This position combines hands-on fieldwork with a strong commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and customer service. Every day brings a new challenge and the opportunity to protect essential infrastructure while building your skills! This is a traveling position. No prior experience requiredwe provide paid, on-the-job training!

Requirements

  • Are at least 21 years old
  • Have a valid drivers license and a clean MVR
  • Are willing to undergo a DOT physical, drug screen, and a background/MVR check
  • Willingness to travel extensively, including out-of-town and out-of-state assignments up to 75% of the time which may involve driving company vehicles or occasional air travel (business travel expenses are paid + per diem)
  • Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions, including environments involving chemicals, sewage, or biohazards
  • Must be able to carry and lift up to 65 lbs. of equipment and tools from vehicle to problem area several times per day
  • Walking on uneven ground and through shrubbery, bushes, etc.
  • Must be able to crawl and kneel in access areas
  • Must be able to lift and remove manhole covers and/or enter confined spaces
  • Can safely and effectively complete all tasks with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Must be able to tolerate occasional exposure to extremes in temperature, humidity or wetness, excessive noise, and/or adverse smells

Responsibilities

  • Abide by all safety policies and procedures, including wearing required PPE for your safety
  • Apply EPA-registered herbicides to sanitary sewer lines using specialized methods and equipment, ensuring safe and effective root control
  • Safely drive, mobilize, and operate company vehicles and equipment to and from multiple treatment locations, often requiring extensive travel
  • Professionally represent the company in the field, serving as the face of Dukes while promoting our services and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Strictly follow all safety, traffic, and environmental regulations to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including daily logs, schedules, and project documentation, ensuring all reporting is completed on time
  • Collaborate with fellow crew members to support efficient, safe, and high-quality project delivery
  • Perform other duties as assigned
