Job Summary Perform basic field work including collecting information and measurements of utility locations, collecting GPS data points, reviewing system maps and records, and producing field sketches for accurate as -built documentation. MasTec Professional Services will provide detailed training for standard survey and construction practices required for this role for utility design projects.

Requirements

• Must have a safe driving record and grant permission to MPS to access their MVR (Motor Vehicle Record)
• Ability to pass DOT drug test.
• Government contracts require U.S. Citizenship.
• Must have a personal cell phone they can use throughout the job
• Live in the NJ area and be able to commute to the assigned work locations
• Knowledge of MS Office applications, including Outlook
• Must have good written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently as well as interact with team members, clients and management staff
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Work independently, make field decisions without direct supervision and be responsible for obtaining field data to determine condition of structures under evaluation.
• Adhere and promote company safety measures at all times
• Drive safely to test station locations to perform basic field testing of corrosion control systems on underground and submerged metallic structures
• Report to client’s local gas distribution office to obtain maps and test station data books
• Plan workday to efficiently and safely collect the daily quota of data
• Accurately record data in GIS app and by following client’s procedures
• Make field decisions and be responsible for obtaining field data that determines conditions of structures under evaluation
• Review field results/data with field office corrosion technicians and with management in engineering office
• Capture detailed and confirmed field data working with mobile and desktop applications
