Our Team. Our Passion. Our Approach. FORTNA is seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician III to work at customer sites to deploy, install and commission specialized MHE equipment. The Field Technician III combines an exceptional understanding of both Installation, Engineering, and leadership best practices. The ideal candidate will be comfortable proactively researching, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and identifying solutions to resolve any issues presented. Must be able to follow standard procedures for proper handoff of unresolvable issues to the appropriate internal teams in order to maximize customer satisfaction. Installation- The Field Service Technician will be responsible for the proper installation of kitted materials as per specs. This includes having the ability to read and understand Electrical Wiring Diagrams & Mechanical drawings. The Field Service Tech will have the ability to troubleshoot electrical Panels and field IO. Commissioning- The Field Service Tech will be able to use and understand basic manufacturer provided software tools to configure and troubleshooting system equipment. Utilize pre-engineered checklists and manufacturer provided software to preform basic equipment configuration tasks.

Requirements

  • Experience leading or guiding teams/employees working in an industrial or commercial environment
  • Strong capabilities in using Microsoft Office
  • Able to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot electrical equipment.
  • Experience in automation, conveyors is a required.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must have strong mechanical, electrical and solution driven skills
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals, read measure devices and blueprints
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and client-facing/customer service skills
  • Must understand OSHA safety rules as well as industrial and electrical laws
  • Possess strong electrical and mechanical abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Electrical/PLC/Computer/Mechanical certification a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead and Install all FORTNA mechanical and electrical components as per FORTNA standards and expectations.
  • The ability to forecast potential obstructions, offering solutions in advance to keep schedule.
  • Prioritize cases according to severity and escalate accordingly.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and work to establish a positive rapport with every customer representative.
  • Experience within an industrial controls environment.
  • Ability to follow schematics and PLC logic to identify a problem.
  • Ability to maintain a clean work area as required.
  • Working ability to follow and apply all applicable safety requirements for compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Report workplace hazards associated with equipment being used, workplace injuries and/or illness and workplace near miss incidents immediately to direct supervisor
  • Ability to safely operate personal hand tools, grinders, welders, forklift, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and manuals
  • Customer focused with good communication skills to provide professional, complete equipment service
  • Ability to work independently as well with team members.
  • Sense of urgency with commitment to achieving success
