About The Position

The Field Technician at ONE Gas is responsible for performing construction and maintenance work related to pipeline systems. This role involves operating various tools and equipment for pipeline construction, installation, maintenance, and removal, as well as responding to customer-related orders and emergency situations. The technician must ensure safety and compliance with company and governmental procedures while maintaining reliable attendance and performing additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Knowledge of use, function, and maintenance of manual tools and equipment applicable to the position.
• Knowledge of basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Knowledge of construction and maintenance of transmission and distribution pipeline systems.
• Working knowledge of excavations and confined spaces safety procedures.
• Ability to read and write fluently in English.

Nice To Haves

• Qualified Plastic Fusion Technician certification.
• CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction and maintenance operating work related to a pipeline system.
• Load, unload, and operate tools and equipment including pipe wrenches, cutters, and generators.
• Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment, including fueling and changing oil.
• Investigate customer-related orders and emergency situations, such as low pressure calls and leaks.
• React immediately to emergency situations to prevent injury to self and others.
