Field Technician - Due Diligence

About The Position

Environmental Consulting & Technology, Inc. (ECT), seeks a dynamic, early career professional to join our Midwest Regional Team. The ideal candidate will support the national due diligence team. Projects primarily focus on renewable energy development and involve environmental site assessments, field surveys, technical research at agency offices, and other technical reporting and field support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences
  • 1-5 years’ experience performing environmental field work
  • Valid drivers license with clean driving record
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and throughout all seasons
  • Able to lift heavy/cumbersome equipment and maintian field equipment and sampling gear
  • Strong attention to Health and Safety protocols and management
  • Long days and routine travel throughout the U.S. by car or flight, sometimes overnight for one or more weeks at a time
  • All applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • GIS and/or CAD experience a plus
  • Desire to actively improve writing and research skills

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments, various remediation/monitoring projects, and other environmental due diligence studies (e.g., critical issues analysis, feasibility studies)
  • Perform multi-media sampling (soil, groundwater, sediment, surface water, air, influent, and effluent)
  • Able to maintain field equipment; take complete, accurate, and legible field notes to document field activities and site conditions
  • Complete any required paperwork, electronic field forms, and data submittals in a timely manner
  • Prepare associated reports, figures, tables and data management
  • Conduct telephone and/or email interviews with property owners, occupants, key site personnel, and federal, state, and local government officials to obtain information concerning the environmental conditions related to a property.
  • Recognize and identify environmental issues in the field and/or based on information provided by the research and interviews.
  • Support other services, to include natural resources, water quality, compliance and cultural projects
