Field Surveyor/Technician
About The Position
WHB Engineers is a well-established and growing Civil Engineering and Construction Management firm with offices in San Diego, San Mateo, Dublin, Pleasant Hill and Chico, California. Our firm provides a full array of engineering, public works design and construction and project management services. Our staff works on a broad array of challenging and interesting public and private projects. We are looking for a Field Surveyor/Technician with five or more years of combined experience in the field and office. The ideal candidate for this opportunity is organized, has solid communication skills, can work independently, is team oriented, and personable. This position requires a dependable, versatile individual who has experience in civil engineering design. Candidates are required to have a California LSIT qualification and be actively in the process of obtaining a LS license or have an LS.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- Five or more years of demonstrated surveying experience
- California PLS License or LSIT actively pursuing a California PLS License
- Current experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills including an ability to interact professionally and knowledgeably with clients
- Field work requires union membership
- Self-motivated and goal oriented, with strong attention to detail
- Must be meticulous about the work you produce
- Solid experience with the MS Office Suite
Responsibilities
- Work under general direction on complex projects in accordance with project requirements and surveying standards.
- Work to ensure projects are on schedule, within budget and meet the requirements of our clients
- Duties include coordination of field survey crews, calculation for topo and boundary surveys, and receiving and processing client work orders. Must have AutoCAD experience
- Work may include both office survey and field crew work
- Perform other duties as required
