What you’ll be challenged to do: The Field Survey Tech will work in a transportation-oriented setting, including on roadways, highways, bridges, railroads, public and private sites. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2-3 years land surveying experience.
  • Experience operating Digital Levels, Robotic Total Stations, Data Collectors, Laser Scanners and survey grade Global Positioning Systems (GPS) units.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decision in a timely manner
  • Willingness to adhere to policies and procedures as directed by supervision
  • Ability to coordinate and work in a team environment
  • Must be capable of passing applicable safety training requirements
  • Successfully pass FRA/DOT drug screening

Nice To Haves

  • 10 Hour OSHA Certification
  • CPR/AED/Basic First Aid Certification
  • Familiarity with GDOT standards
  • Experience with Leica survey equipment
  • FAA Part 107 sUAS License

Responsibilities

  • Operating the equipment necessary to collect survey data in an accurate manner and accurately locate points for mapping purposes.
  • Prepare and maintain survey notes to company standards or verbal instructions.
  • Operate the following equipment: Digital Levels, Robotic Total Stations, Data Collectors, Laser Scanners and survey grade Global Positioning Systems (GPS) units.
  • Utilize point codes during data collection to describe mapping features and line work.
  • Travel 50-75% in-state, 10% out-of-state.
