Field Survey Technician

What you’ll be challenged to do: The Field Survey Tech will work in a transportation-oriented setting, including on roadways, highways, bridges, railroads, public and private sites. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Requirements
- A minimum of 2-3 years land surveying experience.
- Experience operating Digital Levels, Robotic Total Stations, Data Collectors, Laser Scanners and survey grade Global Positioning Systems (GPS) units.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decision in a timely manner
- Willingness to adhere to policies and procedures as directed by supervision
- Ability to coordinate and work in a team environment
- Must be capable of passing applicable safety training requirements
- Successfully pass FRA/DOT drug screening
Nice To Haves
- 10 Hour OSHA Certification
- CPR/AED/Basic First Aid Certification
- Familiarity with GDOT standards
- Experience with Leica survey equipment
- FAA Part 107 sUAS License
Responsibilities
- Operating the equipment necessary to collect survey data in an accurate manner and accurately locate points for mapping purposes.
- Prepare and maintain survey notes to company standards or verbal instructions.
- Operate the following equipment: Digital Levels, Robotic Total Stations, Data Collectors, Laser Scanners and survey grade Global Positioning Systems (GPS) units.
- Utilize point codes during data collection to describe mapping features and line work.
- Travel 50-75% in-state, 10% out-of-state.
