About The Position

FMOL (Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady) - Headquartered in Baton Rouge, LA, serves patients across Louisiana and Mississippi through a network of hospitals, clinics, physicians, elderly housing and integrated information systems. FMOL's St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS is looking for 2 motivated Field Support Technicians to join their new team that specifically support St. Dominic's clinic locations. St. Dominic is splitting their desktop teams and developing an offsite desktop team to support the clinics and be proactive by doing rounding at the clinic sites. Today if a user has a request for a new laptop, printer, mouse, etc or has a quick issue, users have to submit a ticket and wait for helpdesk/desktop to respond which takes time. FMOL wants a team of technicians to basically do rounding at each of the offsite clinic locations to constantly check in on what is needed from an IT standpoint. The last thing a Dr or Nurse wants to do after a long shift is call the helpdesk and go through the formal process of creating a ticket. These techs will show up at clinics, introduce themselves as an IT Technician, and check if anyone is experiencing any IT issues that they can help troubleshoot right there on the spot, or create a helpdesk ticket for the issue so they don't have it. The Director described it like Disney world service so think of needing a water at Disney world - They don't tell you that the water station is around the corner, they go out of their way to go and get that water and bring it to you. That is the type of customer service they are wanting at OLOL. We will need to do some extra screening to make sure candidates are highly customer service focused. It's looking like this will be a contract to start, but if things work out they will convert them to FTEs and make this a permanent team.
