About The Position

@Orchard LLC is seeking Field Engineers to support a fast-growth client that is redefining communications for critical and enterprise operations. Their purpose is to keep people connected, no matter what, by building easy-to-operate, hard-to-destroy technology for the people who expect security and performance that never wavers—in defense, industry, and everywhere critical decisions happen. Our client needs Field Engineers to work on the front lines, ensuring that the U.S. Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) maintains resilient, survivable communication nodes across critical ICBM mission sets. As a Field Engineer, you will be working outside supporting installations, and be responsible for the deployment, configuration, and long-term reliability of our client, SEMPRE’s nodes directly on or near Air Force Bases. You are the face of our technology to the warfighter, combining deep technical execution with high-level professionalism. What your day could involve. For an early-career engineer, this role offers an unparalleled opportunity for hands-on engagement with high-stakes technology, from EMP shielding to edge-computing AI, all while serving a key national security mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Network Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (required for access to sensitive military installations and clearance eligibility).
  • Hands-on experience in some of these areas: RF spectrum monitoring and detection platforms, IP networking, troubleshooting Linux/Windows-based systems, and remotely deployed hardware.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into "plain English" for diverse stakeholders.
  • A proactive, "can-do" attitude with a genuine desire to learn about cutting-edge AI and hardened infrastructure.
  • A current driver’s license is required and must be maintained.
  • You must be able to lift and carry items up to 50lbs in weight on a routine basis.

Responsibilities

  • Provide field-level technical support for the installation, configuration, operations, and maintenance of communications and Sensor systems, including Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS)
  • Support troubleshooting of radar, RF detection, EO/IR, and command-and-control components across multiple vendor platforms.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance, system health checks, and firmware/software updates for all supported systems.
  • Install, configure, and maintain RF detection and tracking systems.
  • Assist with the setup, calibration, and sustainment of sensor payloads and detection systems.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance logs, service reports, and configuration documentation.
  • Act as the technical point of contact for USAF personnel, providing on-site support and clear communication regarding system status.
  • Ensure all installations meet SEMPRE’s rigorous standards for EMP hardening and cybersecurity protocols.

Benefits

  • SEMPRE offers a very competitive benefits package and values internal growth and promotion.
