We provide program administration and assistance to improve grid resiliency to over 50 investor-owned utilities Willdan Energy Company, a subsidiary of Willdan Group Inc., is seeking a Field Supervisor in Los Angeles, CA. The Field Supervisor manages sub-contractor’s field-based construction operations for the installation of building electrification, plumbing, and mechanical upgrade measures at Los Angeles Unified School District schools.  Position requires that the candidate is available to be on-site at school campuses throughout the LAUSD territory during installations that may be scheduled to occur between the hours of 5:00am to 10am, 10am to 3pm, 3pm to 7pm or 7pm to 5am.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or 8 years of relevant experience.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing/implementing school construction projects with a plumbing and electric focus.
Minimum 8 years’ experience working on commercial construction projects at any level with a plumbing and electric focus.
Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, evolving, entrepreneurial work environment.
Knowledge of plumbing, electric and mechanical codes, and industry standard practice.
Knowledge of field-based safety requirements.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and one or more project management information systems.
Demonstrated ability to listen, influence communication and partner with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks to ensure timely delivery of products and services.
Support the development of client facing project presentations.
Ability to travel to project sites throughout the LAUSD territory.
California Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Ability to pass a thorough governmental screening process including fingerprinting and background checks.
Deep appreciation and understanding of the sensitives and safety concerns of working in and around locations that are occupied by small children.

Nice To Haves

Current OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Manages and supervises electrical, plumbing, and mechanical subcontractors during the day-to-day field based operational needs required to effectively and safely install electrical, plumbing and mechanical measures at school campuses throughout the LAUSD territory.
Manages the scheduling of subcontractors to ensure projects are executed during schedule windows approved by LAUSD.
Ensures sub-contractors, Willdan employees and associated stakeholders maintain a safe field-based work environment in compliance with all local and federal safety standards and requirements.
Performs site visits in advance of installations to produce site assessments and identify construction activity accessibility and material staging opportunities in accordance with local school staff and faculty needs and requirements.
On-site field management of subcontractors to ensure conformance with all scopes of work, safety standards, building and environmental protection measures, and Willdan’s Code of Conduct for subcontractors.
Manages and onboards subcontractors including union and prevailing wage contractors performing field work and construction.
Provides on-the-job site supervision of union and prevailing wage contractors performing field work and construction.
Coordinates all field-based projects and workflow needs with assigned project managers.
Supports the refinement of field-based processes and procedures that maximize production efficiency.
Provides critical path management support necessary for project success.
Prepares pre and post construction reports. Manages and maintains strong positive working relationships with all contracted construction subcontractors.
Proactively performs real time Quality Assurance and Quality Control during the installation process.
Ensures that construction subcontractors maintain a clean and safe working environment throughout the duration of installations and leaves the site clean and safe after installations.
