The Field Supervisor holds a pivotal position, responsible for overseeing the flawless execution of designated projects within the Structured Cable Team. Integral to this role is the effective management & mentorship of subordinate team members, ensuring their alignment with project goals, company standards and client expectations. Success in this position is driven by a steadfast dedication to meeting project objectives, facilitating timely and accurate reporting, actively engaging in project activities, and upholding a standard of exceptional customer service. This role will be specifically focused as a Field Supervisor dedicated to a large manufacturing client.

  • Adhere rigorously to all company safety policies and procedures to maintain a secure work environment for all team members.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and provide training to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Review, distribute and track compliance with Company Toolbox Topics.
  • Act as a primary point of contact with customers, engineering firms, electrical/general contractors, and management groups to facilitate seamless communication and project coordination.
  • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Thoroughly review and annotate blueprints and diagrams to ensure a comprehensive understanding of project requirements starting with Pre-Project reviews through to Red-Line/As-Built documents.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to address any discrepancies or ambiguities in project documentation.
  • Analyze project needs to determine the necessary labor and equipment, providing detailed specifications to the project team for procurement and allocation.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager/Project Coordinator to request and procure materials essential to project execution, ensuring accurate tracking and storage in appropriate locations for just in time inventory management.
  • Efficiently coordinate and manage all labor assigned or associated with the project through close collaboration with the Project Manager.
  • Foster a cooperative and motivated team environment to enhance productivity and project success.
  • Maintain accurate records and timely documentation related to project progress, expenses, change orders, and other critical project data.
  • Develop efficient record-keeping systems to ensure easy retrieval and utilization of project information.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding pending change orders, obtaining necessary approvals through established channels and processes.
  • Assist in conducting performance evaluations for technicians, documenting achievements and areas for improvement to guide further training and development efforts.
  • Oversee the proper storage and maintenance of equipment, tools, and parts, ensuring accurate tracking of usage and availability.
  • Implement inventory management best practices to optimize resource allocation and reduce costs.
  • Scrutinize service tickets for accuracy and completeness, ensuring that all essential information is captured for proper documentation and billing purposes.
  • Foster strong relationships with existing customers by maintaining regular communication, understanding their evolving needs, and ensuring their satisfaction with project outcomes.
  • Conduct on-site reviews with customers to define the project scope, clarify expectations, and align project goals with customer requirements.
  • Develop comprehensive material lists and manpower requirements, providing critical insights to the Project Manager for efficient planning and execution.
  • Review and approve all timesheets for assigned labor on a weekly basis, ensuring accuracy and completeness before submission for payroll processing.
  • Actively contribute to technician training programs, offering expertise and support to enhance their skills and knowledge in cable technology.
  • Provide assistance in warehouse operations to ensure smooth inventory management and timely availability of materials for projects.
  • Collaborate with the estimation team to review customer specifications and provide valuable inputs to develop accurate and competitive project proposals.
  • Guide and assist technicians in adhering to procedures and protocols mandated by general contractors to ensure project compliance and successful outcomes.
  • Remain flexible and responsive to the dynamic project environment by undertaking additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Project Manager or Division Manager to support overall project success.
  • Demonstrate strong management and leadership abilities to effectively supervise and guide a team of field personnel, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Proficient in delegating tasks, providing clear direction, and empowering team members to maximize their potential and contribute to project success.

  • Possess a minimum of 5 years' hands-on experience specifically in structured cabling field installation services and/or Technology Low Voltage Systems.
  • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of industry best practices, regulations, and standards related to structured cabling and Low Voltage Systems.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring the efficient installation and maintenance of structured cabling and related technologies.
  • Showcase exceptional customer service skills, ensuring positive interactions and effective communication with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Proficient in addressing customer inquiries, resolving concerns, and building strong relationships to enhance overall customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Able to anticipate and proactively meet customer needs, enhancing the overall customer experience and strengthening the company's reputation for service excellence.
  • Possession of relevant industry certifications, such as CommScope, BICSI, Corning, Leviton, Panduit, Genetec, Avigilon, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in utilizing the MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Competence in utilizing construction project management software for efficient project tracking, task management, document control, and collaboration among project teams.
  • Adeptness in technical troubleshooting and problem-solving, with a track record of efficiently diagnosing and resolving issues related to structured cabling systems, network infrastructure, and associated technologies.
  • Experience in training and developing field personnel, imparting knowledge, best practices, and safety protocols to enhance team competencies and productivity.
