About The Position

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking a Field Supervisor to join its Professional Service Industries (PSI) team in Jefferson, Louisiana. This role is within Intertek's Building and Construction division, which offers assurance, testing, inspection, and consulting services for civil and commercial construction, including construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing. The Field Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of field-testing technicians, technical and quality assurance, project management, implementation of PSI quality assurance programs, technical training, and securing necessary resources for field activities. The position requires computer literacy, basic management and financial skills, and involves at least 50% travel.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Valid/current state driver’s license
  • Certification by ACI, NICET, DOT, or other agencies, as appropriate to the testing
  • 5+ years of field experience
  • Physical ability to perform field technician duties in either a training or production mode
  • Computer literate
  • Basic management and financial skills
  • Five or more years of field construction materials testing experience required
  • ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Level I required
  • Experience with a nuclear density gauge
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to travel 50% of the time
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record is required

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years of field construction materials testing experience preferred
  • ACI Aggregate Base Testing Technician - Level I preferred
  • TWIC preferred

Responsibilities

  • Document and maintain training records for all field technicians
  • Document and maintain equipment calibrations and records
  • Repair concrete testing equipment
  • Train field technicians on jobsites
  • Take lead for all internal and external audits and accreditations with AASHTO, USACE, and DOTD
  • Data entry
