About The Position

Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Field Specialist A located at Pecos, TX, through October 20th, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. CST. This position assumes the responsibility of monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing all production process variables, pipeline gathering system, disposal systems, and ensuring that all production and gathering equipment is operating at peak reliability and efficiency, as well as acquiring and storing data. This position has an 8/6 work schedule, located in Pecos, TX.

Requirements

  • A minimum of six months of current related experience in oil and gas, or related petrochemical industries.
  • Ability and willingness to work rotating on-call shifts, weekends, and holidays of the assigned work schedule, and overtime based on workload.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must live within 50 miles of the work location or be willing to relocate.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), CMMS, and the ability to understand new software packages.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Petroleum or Process Technology, or related technology discipline.
  • Two years of current related experience in oil and gas, or related petrochemical industries.
  • DOT/PHMSA pipeline OQ training.
  • Familiarity with reliability efforts for a variety of safety, environmental, and production-related issues.
  • Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance of production and facility equipment.
  • Familiar with pneumatic/electronic instrumentation.
  • Basic knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), CMMS, SCADA, and an aptitude for learning new software packages.
  • Capable of simultaneously performing multiple tasks with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse team of coworkers, contractors, and internal and external customers.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Actively supports Health, Environment, and Safety processes by accomplishing daily activities within applicable regulations and policies.
  • Carries out duties in an environmentally conscious manner, following safe operating practices as described in the Shale & Tight Business Unit Control of Operations principles.
  • Maintains a safe working environment and is prepared to respond to an environmental or safety event.
  • Operates, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains oil and gas pipeline gathering systems, disposal systems, and compressor stations.
  • Performs duties associated with oil and gas pipeline operations including pipeline pigging, oil gathering facilities, compressor stations, and third-party LACT systems.
  • Maintains records and data input.
  • Monitors computer control systems and tests safety devices.
  • Monitors SCADA systems.
  • Partners with other employees, contractors, and third parties to ensure that all equipment is operating at peak efficiency.
  • Utilizes a Computerized Maintenance Management System to create work orders for inventory and work planning/prioritization.
  • Assures all work performed adheres to Chevron's Operational Excellence standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Handles DOT/PHMSA reporting and compliance training.
  • Maintains consistent communication with the team on the status of the pipeline network and associated facilities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
