This position is responsible for completing field service activities, including installation, repairs, and preventative maintenance of A-dec products. Maintains high level of A-dec product training, upholding standards and regulatory requirements while reporting field experience to the organization. When not traveling or supporting teammates in the field, incumbents support engineering, sales, and production departments as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with the ability to understand and successfully convey technical information.
  • Intermediate analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex issues, and must be able to take independent initiative to improve knowledge and skills.
  • Intermediate interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships, with both customers and teammates.
  • Intermediate organizational skills with the ability to appropriately prioritize work and effectively use systems to capture and retrieve information.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, using all available resources to accomplish work and benefit the customer.
  • Must have basic computer skills including PC knowledge and skills, for use with A-dec products (troubleshooting, connectivity, database, understand computer systems, hardware)
  • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time.
  • Current valid driver’s license.
  • Current valid passport (or qualify to obtain one within 3 months) and ability to travel internationally.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Drug and /or alcohol testing may be required for specific projects.
  • Generally requires 3 years of technical and mechanical experience.
  • This job position is subject to A-dec’s exposure control plan which includes the requirement to participate in the Hepatitis B Vaccination Program.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with Sales, and Specials Engineering to coordinate field service activities.
  • Presents equipment requirements to contractors and customers.
  • Completes field activities including installation, repairs, and preventive maintenance in a timely manner. At times completing these tasks independently.
  • Responsible for customer relationship management through the effective use of technical knowledge to install, troubleshoot, service, and maintain equipment at customer sites.
  • Provides appropriate, timely, and regular communications to customer and internal key stakeholders regarding customer and equipment issues.
  • Provides feedback and recommendations for product and process improvements.
  • Documents field activities, including quality and expense reports.
  • Independently resolves equipment and customer issues both on-site and remotely.
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency to identify and resolve issues.
  • Stays abreast of A-dec product knowledge (current and future), product planning, changing/ emerging technology relative to this field.
  • Adheres to established training, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Must be flexible in working hours as this position will require customer support during non-regular business hours, and/or weekend work as necessary.
  • When not in the field, supports training, supports the team, and prepares for future field work.
  • Other duties as assigned, including assisting other teams.
