About The Position

Makes services connects and disconnects. Reads meters when requested. Responds to members inquiries in the field or refers them to proper department. Keeps up-to-date as to direction of line feeds and locations or reclosing and switching devices. Plans day to day work assigned. Patrols Blue Grass Energy lines by being alert at all times to observe any unsafe or unsatisfactory condition existing and reporting at once to proper authority. Assumes responsibility for vehicle, tools and equipment assigned. Maintains vehicle and makes sure that vehicle is stocked with proper material. Attends and participates in job safety and other training programs. Keeps informed of all Blue Grass Energy policies and procedures and in turn informs consumers of these policies and procedures. Assists with change out of meters for annual sample meter testing program. Collects delinquent accounts. Performs locates when requested. This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions, it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Working knowledge of personal computers and MS software applications helpful. Working knowledge of meters is preferred. Ability to develop skills necessary to operate personal computer, equipment and perform assigned work. Ability to troubleshoot minor computer related problems. Ability to learn Cooperative's service area and distribution system. Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts. Ability to understand and follow Cooperative maps, Cooperative Safety Manual, and any type of Cooperative forms related to work being performed. Must possess and maintain valid driver's license. No climbing required. Required to pass a physical examination when employed. Must have sufficient health to perform the essential functions, duties and responsibilities of the job. Some pulling, pushing, stooping, kneeling, and reaching required. Outside work under varying and at times severe weather conditions and subject to irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. Loads materials, parts, etc. in and out of pickup at work site and warehouse. Blue Grass Energy is an equal opportunity employer
