About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic, results-orientated Field Services Manager to lead and optimize the Property Management Technicians (PMTs) responsible for onsite inspections of residential rental properties across multiple markets. This role owns field operations performance, inspection quality, and task dispatching, while ensuring balanced scheduling and timely execution of field issues. The ideal candidate has a natural ability to anticipate and foresee operational challenges across multiple teams, proactively addressing potential issues before they impact business priorities. The Field Services Manager acts as the operational bridge between Property Services and Operational Management teams, aligning PMT availability with business priorities while maintaining compliance and service-level standards.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing field operations, preferably in the Single-Family Rental sector
  • Manage a remote team ensuring consistent performance and operational follow-through
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, recruit, develop, and retain high-performing team members
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to measure, interpret, and act on KPIs
  • Exceptional leadership skills focused on accountability, performance improvement, and team development
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Ability to think strategically while maintaining a hands-on leadership approach
  • Experience collaborating with teams, ensuring alignment of priorities while maintaining clear communication
  • Familiarity with property management, maintenance, inspections, and turnover workflows

Responsibilities

  • Lead hiring, onboarding, and training for Property Management Technicians (PMTs), including ongoing performance coaching and evaluations
  • Dispatch and assign field tasks within local markets, balancing workload, priorities, and SLA commitments
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for onsite troubleshooting and job completion support
  • Set and manage expectations for inspection quality, documentation accuracy, responsiveness, and task execution
  • Validate billing classifications and approve time, materials, reimbursements, and purchases to ensure revenue accuracy
  • Maintain PMT tool readiness by auditing kits, supplies, and access materials, ensuring technicians are equipped before dispatch
  • Optimize daily and weekly routes to balance work distribution and minimize travel time, adjusting schedules in real time as needed
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align field execution with the needs of Property Managers, Leasing, Renovations, and other cross-functional teams
  • Anticipate operational challenges and pivot as needed to proactively remove obstacles
  • Track KPIs to measure performance, identify trends, and guide up-training efforts for improved field outcomes
  • Facilitate team meetings, 1:1 feedback conversations, and cross-team operational syncs to maintain alignment
  • Refine and evolve field processes as the organization grows, training PMTs on updated standards and procedures
  • Travel to local markets as needed to support field team development and department initiatives
