About The Position

The Field Services Lead has direct supervision of emergency medical service personnel. The Field Services Lead has frequent contact within and outside Carilion Transportation Services, with patients and their families and other medical and local providers. Work environment includes office space as well as field duties, in providing patient care and supervision of staff. High physical demand in lifting and extricating patients. The Field Services Lead participates in budget process. #EMSHeroes All of our driving positions do require that you provide a copy of your current driving record and meet driver eligibility requirements. The Field Services Lead rate starts at $27.70, with credit for experience. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available for external candidates who meet applicable guidelines. The Field Services (ER) Lead Maintains daily field supervision of staff and equipment for direct patient care. Trains and evaluates new employees to become familiar with what is expected in their job performance. Stays informed in insurance billing and guidelines and provides assistance to staff as needed. Coordinates transports between CTS units and dispatch center when needed. Collaborates with and supervises personnel in direct patient care. Actively participates in development of public relations and marketing programs. Plans and schedules crews to meet staffing needs. Plans and coordinates in-services and continuing education programs for staff. Acts as a liaison with other allied healthcare professionals. Maintains Emergency Medical Services standards of care and performs patient care as needed. Administers life support care and transport to patients in pre-hospital settings as authorized and directed by physician. Performs a variety of skills related to acute and non-acute settings in ground and/or air transport. Responds to medical emergencies in a 911 setting and protects life and administers cardiac and trauma support when needed. Administers initial treatment at emergency scene, assesses patient response and makes adjustments as needed. Gathers and analyzes information and uses reason when dealing with emotional topics. Manages difficult customer situations and maintains confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Education : High school or equivalent required.
  • Experience : At least one year experience as EMT-Intermediate or Paramedic required.
  • Licensure/Certification : Must be certified as an EMT-Intermediate/Cardiac Tech or Paramedic in the State of Virginia. AHA BLS-HCP and ACLS required.
  • Other : Must maintain continuing education hours to meet re-certification status as required by state and national standards. Good computer skills. Good communication skills.
