About The Position

The Essential Functions of the Field Services Groundman include working on sites, managing on-site functions, and enhancing efficiency and customer service through various reporting and tracking processes. The technical expertise of the FSG will assist the organization in increasing client satisfaction, improving efficiency, managing risk, diagnosing problems, and complying with laws and regulations. Essential functions of this position are to be performed at a Company-designated office or field location. Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards.

Requirements

  • No experience is required - training is provided
  • Bachelor's in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred; combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieu of degree
  • Working knowledge of project safety processes
  • Basic understanding of quality control monitoring
  • Ability to complete production reporting
  • Cost reporting and scheduling skills
  • Ability to travel and relocate to projects is essential

Responsibilities

  • Assist the project manager and superintendent with the day-to-day operations of an assigned construction project
  • Routine quality control and quality assurance
  • Conducting crew visits
  • Monitoring schedules
  • Preparing purchase orders/contracts
  • Overseeing the daily work of subcontractors
  • Estimating costs and monitoring expenditure with vendors
  • Evaluating environmental impact and right-of-way access plans, mitigating risk, ensuring compliance
  • Drafting reports
  • Assisting in running field operations
  • Analyzing data
  • Job planning
  • Troubleshooting
  • Supporting overall project objectives
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned
