About The Position

The Field Services Engineering Sr Technician I at Zimmer Biomet is responsible for providing onsite and remote technical support for surgical devices. This role involves installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of medical devices, ensuring their effective operation throughout their lifecycle. The technician acts as a liaison between Zimmer Biomet and customers, contributing to complaint investigations and providing educational support to enhance market awareness.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • 4-6 years of experience in field support, engineering, or customer-facing roles, preferably in a medical device company.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently.

Nice To Haves

  • AAS in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or Laboratory Equipment Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience with robotics.
  • Project management skills.
  • Experience working in an operating room environment.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to sites to perform Zimmer Biomet system installations, troubleshooting, upgrading, and field repair.
  • Schedule and conduct Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) at customer sites as required.
  • Assess technical problems and find solutions or escalate questions appropriately in high-pressure situations.
  • Act as a liaison between Zimmer Biomet and end customers regarding specific performance aspects of products.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking in assessing performance and risks associated with installed medical devices.
  • Serve as a mentor for new hires and provide first-line troubleshooting support for Field Service Engineers.
  • Provide product feedback and improvements to quality and R&D teams.
  • Manage and maintain company equipment and necessary documents for servicing activities.
  • Provide on-site support for product demonstrations and educational initiatives to build market awareness.
  • Provide feedback to internal training on needed content.
