This Field Services Engineer position participates in the planning, organizing, installation, relocation, and maintenance of computer systems, peripherals, communications, data circuits, network hardware, technology kiosks, digital signage, ATM's, IP telephones, and related equipment. This role will also provide superior hardware installation, configuration, maintenance, and software support services. Role Summary As a Field Service Engineer at Associated Bank, you’ll be the hands-on expert ensuring our technology and hardware run seamlessly across the organization. You’ll support colleagues by resolving hardware issues, managing equipment deployments, and maintaining IT standards that keep our teams productive. This role offers the opportunity to work across diverse technologies, collaborate with multiple teams, and grow your technical and customer service skills.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Computer Servicing, Network Servicing, Electrotechnical Technology, Technical Writing, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years in PC, laptop, server, and printer troubleshooting and repair
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows 10/11, Server 2012, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of IP telephone servicing and Cat5e–Cat6 network cabling
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • 4+ years in advanced hardware troubleshooting and repair
  • Experience with Cisco networking hardware and Apple devices
  • Technical writing and documentation experience
  • HP, Data Card, and Lexmark Service certifications (or ability to obtain within one year)

Responsibilities

  • Respond to on-site service requests and resolve hardware issues efficiently using company-provided tools and parts.
  • Troubleshoot and repair laptops, desktops, and other IT hardware to maintain high performance and reliability.
  • Manage laptop deployments, returns, and configuration requests to support colleague transitions.
  • Diagnose computer and IP phone connectivity issues to determine network, software, or hardware root causes.
  • Execute project requests for equipment installation, removal, or relocation, ensuring feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with IT and training teams to develop and maintain accurate hardware documentation and procedures.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inventory audits, and data updates to keep IT assets accurate and operational.
  • Support executive meetings and events by providing A/V and laptop setup and troubleshooting.
