About The Position

This role provides advanced technical support and service for medical devices, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction across an assigned territory. The Field Services Engineer 3 installs, maintains, and upgrades complex equipment while acting as a liaison between customers and technical support teams. This position requires strong troubleshooting skills, business acumen, and the ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals. You will manage service calls, train new staff, and support sales and operational objectives. High autonomy, frequent travel, and problem-solving in fast-paced healthcare environments are key aspects of this role. This position offers a dynamic field-based environment where your work directly impacts patient care and healthcare delivery.

Requirements

  • Associate of Science degree in electronics or a related technical discipline, or equivalent technical training or military experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Field Service Engineer or in a similar technical role.
  • Experience with complex capital medical devices and demonstrated troubleshooting expertise.
  • Proficiency in networking, Microsoft Windows, CRM systems (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle), and MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to travel extensively within the region (approximately 75%), maintain a valid driver’s license, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and periodic overtime as required.
  • Ability to complete required training and maintain competency in all assigned products and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Install, relocate, and upgrade medical equipment according to technical documentation, procedures, and quality management standards.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and software updates, documenting service activities accurately.
  • Respond to customer service requests within required timeframes and act as a technical liaison for complex troubleshooting.
  • Support sales efforts through equipment demonstrations, pre-sale consultations, and clinical evaluations.
  • Assist with the training and mentoring of new Field Service Engineers and installation staff.
  • Maintain company assets, uphold safety policies, and adhere to ethical and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with regional service managers to achieve operational goals, including service contract sales and billable services.
