About The Position

The Field Services Coordination Specialist is responsible for dispatching field crews for both standard and emergency repairs related to water distribution and wastewater collection systems. This role involves receiving and prioritizing service requests, communicating with various stakeholders, and ensuring efficient operations within the Department of Water and Sewerage (DWSD).

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Knowledge of repair and maintenance of water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
• Familiarity with department emergency repair methods and procedures.
• Understanding of street locations within the service area.
• Basic knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Skill in preparing summary reports regarding the status of field work.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a similar dispatch or coordination role.
• Proficiency in using DWSD basic technology and software.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch investigation locations for water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
• Receive calls from Team Leaders, department units, law enforcement, and customers regarding service requests.
• Determine which calls require immediate attention and notify supervision of pertinent information.
• Generate daily work reports for investigation and repair crews.
• Receive work order information from investigators and ensure adequate emergency repair or service is indicated.
• Complete daily end of shift reports.
• Communicate dispatch activities and ensure no duplication of service requests.
• Review service requests for follow-up work by additional crews.
