Partner with the best The Field Winding Engineer is generally responsible for providing electrical and winding repair services to customers operating a wide range of original equipment, which includes: generators, motors and ancillary systems. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for: Performing Winding inspection, electrical testing, maintenance and repairs on Generator HV windings on customer sites globally. Providing basic mechanical strip-down (and rebuild) of machines to gain access to the generator windings along with electrical testing on high and low voltage windings Providing visual winding inspections of the stator, rotor and excitation system as well as in-situ generator winding repairs including stator re-wedge work. Working as part of a team for on-site stator strip and rewind operations. Assisting mechanical service engineer(s) on assignments, which will not necessarily involve winding related activities. Supervising and train internal and external customers. Interpreting technical drawings, specifications and technical requirements; prepare method statements and prepare detailed and concise reports for submission to customers. Attend technical meetings on site and at customers’ premises. Conducting an on-site risk assessment on every assignment and record details thereof on the special form provided. Fuel your passion To be successful in this role you will have: Have a technical degree from an accredited school and 3+yrs of field service experience Have competencies with tooling including basic hand tools, multi‑meters, meggers, rigging equipment, generator‑specific tooling, and HIPot Have experience working with air, hydrogen, and liquid‑cooled generators in both 2‑pole and 4‑pole configurations Have experience performing generator high‑voltage tests such as PI, DC Leakage, and HIPot Have experience using generator rotor and stator robotic test systems including RoGIS, MAGIC, and MAGIC Jr. Have the ability and willingness to travel frequently—domestically and internationally—often on short notice, for 75–85% of the time or as business needs require Work in a way that works for you We recognize that everyone is different and that the way in which people want to work and deliver at their best is different for everyone too.
