About The Position

The Field Service Technician role at Aerotek involves performing diagnostic and repair services on portable air compressors, generators, and dewatering pumps. The position requires travel within a 250-mile radius and emphasizes customer service, effective communication, and safety practices. Technicians will work independently while also training and assisting other service technicians, ensuring high-quality service delivery.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience with AC Generators
• Experience with emissions, air compressors, and schematics
• Strong mechanical and electrical skills
• Troubleshooting skills
• Understanding and competence with computers and associated systems (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
• Experience with heavy equipment, hydraulics, diesel, mechanical troubleshooting, schematics, and diesel engines
• Service and preventive maintenance experience.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to work independently and be a self-starter
• Excellent communication skills with a strong customer focus
• Journeymen certification not required but equal level of experience preferred
• Experience as a Class 3 Technician Mechanic
• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools
• Mechanical inclination.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and repair services on portable air compressors, generators, and dewatering pumps in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations.
• Perform diagnostics using OEM software for various engine brands and determine possible causes for repairs.
• Test and document proper operating parameters of equipment.
• Provide basic tools for the job along with normal maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Provide high level of customer service and develop rapport with customers through effective communication and professionalism.
• Train and assist other service technicians as needed.
• Promote and practice proper safety procedures and the correct use of personal protective equipment at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
