The Service Technician (ST) at National Carwash Solutions is responsible for performing on-site preventive maintenance, repairs, and installations related to vehicle wash equipment. This role involves engaging with customers to identify maintenance needs, providing training on equipment maintenance, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and service delivery.

  • Perform service work on vehicle wash equipment and accessories, troubleshooting electrical, electronic, and mechanical problems.
  • Identify and diagnose performance concerns with equipment, replacing, repairing, or adjusting parts and systems as necessary.
  • Educate and present to customers on new or enhanced products and services.
  • Inspect, lubricate, and check wax and detergent levels in accordance with preventative maintenance contracts.
  • Provide customers with a summary of equipment performance and solutions for enhanced performance.
  • Run equipment through cycles to ensure complete system functionality.
  • Advise customers of necessary service work and make recommendations regarding replacement of worn or damaged parts.
  • Inspect equipment post-installation to ensure proper function.
  • Provide information and training to customers on proper operation and general maintenance of equipment.
  • Develop and maintain good rapport with customers to ensure outstanding service and satisfaction.
  • Deliver parts, chemicals, or supplies to customers as needed.
  • Complete work orders, expense reports, and daily and weekly time logs.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of equipment changes or modifications through various resources.
  • Maintain proper inventory of parts on service vehicle and in warehouse, reporting levels as required.
  • Keep Service Manager informed of significant problems, progress, or barriers to success.
  • Comply with all applicable OSHA, EPA, local regulatory laws, and company safety policies.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a service technician in a related area.
  • Clean driving record with no more than three moving violations within the past 5 years and no more than two preventable, at-fault accidents within the past 5 years.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with customers.
  • No impaired driving convictions within the past 5 years and no pending charges.
  • Ability to use basic math and writing skills.
  • Demonstrable interest and aptitude in mechanical, plumbing, and electrical work.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret equipment, operating, and maintenance manuals.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Forklift experience or ability to obtain forklift certification.
  • Commitment to customer satisfaction and adaptability to different personalities.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Intermediate computer skills, experience with Microsoft and GSuite programs.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong PLC or relay logic experience.
