About The Position
A well-established industrial machinery manufacturer is seeking a Machine Builder / Field Service Technician to join its team on first shift. This role will primarily support the Machine Department, focusing on the mechanical and electrical assembly of custom industrial equipment, spare parts production, and providing technical support to customers. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technician with strong electrical and mechanical skills who enjoys building and troubleshooting industrial machinery. As you become more established in the role, you will also support field service work, traveling to customer sites to assist with installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of equipment. This is a great opportunity to work in a collaborative manufacturing environment with exposure to custom machinery used in the production of heating elements, while gaining experience supporting customers both remotely and in the field. Additional Information This position supports the production and servicing of custom industrial machinery used in heating element manufacturing, including applications related to coil cutting, filling, feeding, annealing, trimming, bending, and other metal processing operations. The company works with customers across North America and provides highly specialized automation equipment tailored to industrial production needs.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience building industrial machinery or equipment
- Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude
- Experience working with industrial equipment and automation systems
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems up to 480V
- Experience with electrical wiring and panel building
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally

Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical assembly and electrical wiring of industrial machinery and components
- Build and wire electrical panels and machine components
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including high-voltage systems up to 480V
- Assist with spare part manufacturing and machine builds within the facility
- Provide technical troubleshooting support to customers via phone and email
- Travel to customer sites for machine installation, service, and troubleshooting
- Support field service projects domestically and internationally as needed
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues
