About The Position

Job Summary The Field Service Technician ensures calibration activities are performed safely using approved calibration procedures. They will execute daily Industrial/Commercial/Marine tasks, enforcing standards and meeting schedule/quality objectives. This position requires technicians to possess the requisite knowledge, skills, abilities, and qualifications necessary to maintain, test, calibrate, and troubleshoot. Administrative Duties and Responsibilities Support other SCI departments. Ensure calibration standards are calibrated, and all equipment is functioning properly before/after onsite events. Participate in reporting deficiencies and calibration results grammatically and technically while ensuring inspection/calibration records are completed fully and accurately. This involves working with Google Drive, shared Excel sheets, and proprietary asset management systems. Onsite Duties and Responsibilities Technicians must maintain professionalism as team leaders and SCI representatives. Participate in testing of instrumentation and control devices using portable test equipment such as Process Calibrators, Electronic Voltmeters, Temperature/Pressure Standards, and other instruments in accordance with approved calibration procedures, safety regulations, and other standards/policies. Calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, or repair electrical/mechanical instruments or testing equipment. Inspect electrical project work and environmental sensors for quality and proper operation. Set up or operate test equipment to evaluate the performance of developmental parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions. Provide technical expertise in resolving electrical/mechanical deficiencies encountered. Verify part dimensions or clearances to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Ensure standards are maintained in a highly regulated, process-driven environment. Any other related duties as needed.

Requirements

  • OSHA10 Maritime and Construction
  • CPR, First Aid and AED Scissor Lift 3a certified
  • Regulatory EH&S (Environmental, Health, and Safety)
  • Qualification and proficiency in the following calibration procedures/processes
  • Pressure, Temp, Rh, Dewpoint/Wet-bulb Temp, Differential Pressure, Pressure Switch
  • Technical certificate or associate degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or trade school, or a minimum of two (2) years of relevant hands-on technical experience, including applicable military technical training.
  • Knowledge of calibration fundamentals, test equipment operating procedures, and applicable formulas.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical theory, verifying ground, testing/frisking electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety and quality standards.
  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic, algebra 2, geometry.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Must be able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Must work with integrity, have strong attention to detail, and have strong analytical skills.
  • Must be proficient with computers and computer software, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and transport equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Bending/squatting/kneeling/stooping/crouching/walking eight or more hours daily.
  • Able to work in multiple environments, such as office, industrial, or shipboard locations in cold, hot, or humid conditions, around moving equipment with the potential for producing high noise levels.
  • Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces with appropriate PPE.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening, background check, and basic skills knowledge tests.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a U.S. passport.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Must be available to travel up to 60% and willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays if necessary to meet project commitments.
