The Job: As a Field Service Technician, you’ll be part of our Nelson Stud Welding & Fastening team working as an on-site employee.

Requirements

• Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, fractions, area, circumference, and volume.
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, modify, and repair the regional rental fleet, including stud welding systems, power sources, and field diesel vehicles.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, modify, and repair customer equipment.
• Assist customers in person and via the telephone with equipment, accessory, and technical problems.
• Assist sales representatives in person and via the telephone with equipment, accessory, and technical problems.
• Perform in-house demonstrations for customers.
• Weld samples for sales representatives and customers.
• Perform as a boiler outage service technician as required.
• Perform cycle counts as directed.
• Perform shipping and receiving responsibilities when required.
• Complete company deliveries to various customer/warehouse locations as needed.
• Occasionally perform general building maintenance.
