About The Position

We're partnered with a well-established machinery manufacturer in Reading, PA, currently seeking a Service Technician to join their team. This position offers a competitive pay rate of $30–40 per hour, with overtime and international travel compensation bringing estimated annual earnings to around $100-120,000. The role also includes a comprehensive benefits package, including 401(k), healthcare, vision, and dental coverage. The role requires extensive travel (50-75%) across North America and occasionally internationally, and the candidate must be located within 90 minutes of Reading, PA.

Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience in a Field Service Technician role within food, beverage, bakery, or packaging machinery
• Strong mechanical background
• Electrical, controls, and PLC experience highly desirable
• Proven ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
• Hands-on experience with motors, drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, sensors, conveyors, and VFDs
• Working knowledge of PLC systems
• Comfortable with 70–75% travel and extended site-based assignments
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
• Must have the legal right to live and work in the US

• Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLC systems experience

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, service, and troubleshoot automated food processing and packaging equipment at customer sites
• Perform mechanical and electrical machine and equipment installations
• Perform mechanical and electrical fault-finding on high-speed production lines
• Support customers with breakdown response, preventative maintenance, and system optimization
• Provide on-site training to maintenance and operations teams
• Liaise with engineering and parts teams to resolve technical issues and identify upgrade opportunities
• Complete service reports, site documentation, and expense reporting
• Travel extensively to customer facilities across North America, with occasional international travel (50-75%)
• Developed and maintained machine control systems using PLC/HMI platforms
• Delivered customized, customer-focused automation solutions
