About The Position

LACO Technologies is a leading manufacturer of custom vacuum and leak testing systems used in mission-critical applications across Aerospace, Automotive, Medical/Pharmaceutical, and advanced manufacturing industries. We support world-class customers such as SpaceX, Apple, NASA, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Merck. We are seeking a Field Service Technician who enjoys hands-on technical work, customer interaction, and solving complex problems in real-world environments. This role is ideal for a technician who wants variety, ownership, and exposure to advanced engineered systems. As a Field Service Technician, you are the face of LACO Technologies to our customers. Your work directly impacts equipment performance, customer satisfaction, and long-term partnerships. You’ll support unique, custom-built systems — no two days or systems are the same. The Field Service Technician is responsible for on-site and remote service support, including troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs, commissioning support, and warranty service for LACO equipment. You will work closely with the Service Manager, service technicians, engineering, and customers to ensure timely, high-quality service outcomes.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of field service, maintenance, or technical service experience
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable with face-to-face customer interaction and technical communication
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet schedules
  • Proven dependability, accountability, and professionalism
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience servicing vacuum systems or leak detection equipment
  • Experience with automated systems, sensors, and industrial controls
  • Understanding of electrical safety standards (e.g., NFPA 79)
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings
  • Experience with pneumatic design or industrial automation
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks or other 3-D CAD software (plus)
  • Experience creating or interpreting BOMs in ERP systems

Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of customer equipment both on-site and remotely
  • Complete preventative maintenance activities and field modifications as required
  • Support commissioning and startup activities for new or modified systems
  • Manage repair parts ordering and coordinate parts cycle time
  • Maintain accurate service documentation, customer service logs, and internal records
  • Communicate directly with customers to ensure clear expectations, timely resolution, and proper follow-up
  • Maintain tools and test equipment, ensuring proper calibration and safe operation
  • Support projects involving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automated systems
  • Follow all safety, quality, and electrical standards while representing LACO professionally at customer sites
