Requirements

  • Some testing experience of low and medium voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers and/or protective relays.
  • 3+ years of driving experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, operating manuals and safety guidelines.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, overtime and weekends as required, willingness to be on call.
  • Successful completion of a background and driving record investigation.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree from an accredited 2-year technical college in Electrical Power, or similar experience/training from the military (Army Prime Power, Air Force Electrical Power Production, or NAVY Seabee).
  • NETA Certification (II, III) highly preferred or equivalent skills/experience to become NETA Certified.
  • Power DB experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing and maintenance on low, medium and high voltage power distribution equipment for commercial and industrial clients.
  • Perform testing under NETA standards to ensure reliability, safety and efficiency.
  • Perform Instrument Transformer testing.
  • Perform Power Transformer testing – Doble, Insulation Resistance, Transformer Turns Ratio (TTR).
  • Perform Cable testing including Power Factor, Tan Delta, VLF, Hipot.
  • Perform Circuit breaker & Switchgear testing of low, medium & high voltage.
  • Perform Primary & Secondary Injection Testing.
  • Perform Protective Relay testing including electro-mechanical and solid state.
  • Perform Continuity, Ground Fault testing.
  • Perform Power Quality testing.
  • Troubleshoot, inspect, start-up and collect data on: switchgear, circuit breakers, cables, transformers, protective relays, VFDs, ATS.
  • Perform inspections, diagnosis of issues, replace parts, make recommendations, recommissioning.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols including LOTO.
  • Contribute to a strong team environment through assisting teammates in accomplishing mutual goals.
  • Communicate all information to customers in a way they understand the issues & resolutions.
  • Complete reports on the work you have completed.
